Birthday week

Last week Ashlynn turned 7.  I don't know why  but it seems crazy that I have a 7 year old, she is growing up so fast. We will be hitting those tween years before we know it.  In honor of the birthday girl her birthday was a process that took a week and a half,  which she thoroughly enjoyed but her sister was not that fond of.  Ryan's parents came out for a visit and we had a great time.  We went with them out to dinner and we let Ashlynn pick and her request was that she wanted Pizza and ice cream.  Where else can you experience both those things and so much more.... Izzy's.  Can I just say that as some of you might cringe, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I loved not having to pick one thing but have a little of a lot of different things and to top it all off with a cinnamon roll and ice cream, doesn't get much better.  We also got to go do a late summer swim with them at the Black Butte pool.

This last weekend we had a friend birthday party for Ashlynn and she chose the theme of "rainbow".  We invited over some of her friends and they had a ball.  Ryan was able to get the bouncy house from his work and it was a huge hit.  I think we might have looked ridiculous to our neighbors, but is was just for a few hours :)  We did a cake walk and make your own rainbow necklace activity.  We are so thankful that the girls have made so many dear friends.

We love the girl that she is and the ways she continues to keep growing.  She makes us smile because she loves to laugh and be goofy.  She loves to serve people and take care of others.  She is a great debater and is starting to love to do sports.  She has a tender heart and loves to worship.  She loves to be in the spot light and is not afraid to release that voice of hers.  One of the things that warmed my heart was when she was at school they were asking the kids what they want to be when they grow up and she told me that her answer was that she wanted to be a mom :) Made me proud.
